Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster
United Way of Cullman County acts as fiscal agent for VOAD of Cullman County. VOAD membership is a diverse group of non-profits and faith-based organizations experienced in immediate and long-term disaster relief, they are tasked with leveraging volunteer and financial resources to make the greatest possible impact on those least able to recover from disasters on their own.United Way’s 2-1-1 Information and Referral service connects residents to resources. We are prepared to accept donations of cash and building materials to help fund repairs to owner occupied homes for low income residents with little or no insurance coverage. With this funding, VOAD, partnering with other community resources, can help ensure that appropriate repairs are made by licensed contractors for the safety and security of the families so greatly impacted.
